Hi Ben, I wonder what varieties of figs have you kept in the collection.

I have 2 trident maples placed in about a 100L container one is sitting on a old rooting tile that one was put an a 20L pot and forgotten about for 4 years roots grew into the ground definitely helped

Have you used the method Randy Knight developed for recovering sensitive Yamadori? If you know you know but if you don’t then this is a level up for your collecting abilities!!!! It’s also the best emergency recovery method for trees that get sunburnt and experiencing drought. We have had a ton of success using it to recover a lot of issues. It can also be used as a way to force back budding on stubborn material 🎉

I am renting on a ranch on a windy ridge- can I put my trees in a raised bed, maybe in large nursery cans that will be easy to dig up later? I had to build a cage to protect them from the packrats, deer and horses that roam the property. I may try to "attach" the cage ( 4'x6'x3') to the raised bed for protection.

Any update on your giganteum? I’m trying to figure out how to prune mine. Although, new chutes are coming out of the trunk, no new chutes are coming out of the branches. With that, I’m afraid to trim the branches, but they’re too long
